CORE CLASS: Week 4
Imaginative Arts!
Imaginative
Arts week focus: Integrity in What We Do!
Know: Seek knowledge by doing all of the
following:
1) Plan out your week and either write it down
in your planner or plan it out with your parent/running partner.
) Read the core scripture and quote at least
one time; come prepared to pass it off if you memorized it!
3) Memorize the following scripture: Job 27:5-
…till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.
4) “Way To Be”: Ch 4: Be Clean and write
down or highlight and bring at least one favorite quote or part.
5) Finish “Star Girl.” Bring at least one
favorite quote or favorite part.
6)
Read the following Quote and explain to someone what it
means:
“Do what thy manhood bids thee do;
From none but self expect applause;
He noblest lives and noblest dies
Who makes and keeps his self-made laws.”-Sir
Richard Francis Burton
8) As we have discussed so many aspects of
integrity, consider the following performance, it’s uniqueness and the
integrity that they show to their cultural dance style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FoHlrQScWl0

Understanding: Turn knowledge to understanding by doing
THIS:
Find an artistic example (music, dance, art,
poetry) that you feel demonstrates an integrity like River Dancing does, or
that you feel teaches us more about what we have learned this month and share
it with us online before we get to class.
And then do
one of the following:
·
Do
a word study on a word that comes to mind from what you learned this month
·
Write
a paper about Star Girl and what you learned from it, how she showed integrity,
whether you liked it or not, or comparing characters in it. Turn it in to a mentor or parent to evaluate
and return. Share your thoughts from it
in class.
·
Create an artistic example (poem,
music, etc.) about what you learned this month (you can do one project to satisfy both this inspirement as well as the
journeyman-level “monthly theme project”)

Intelligence: Turn
understanding into intelligence by applying it to your life by doing the
following in class:
·
Discuss
“Star Girl” in class with us and consider how your life can be different
because of reading that book
·
Come
prepared to participate in a water color art project. Please let Sister Biesinger know if you can
bring your own paints for this!
